Diabetes and Cardiometabolic diseases
Cardiometabolic disorder is a blend of metabolic dysfunctions portrayed by insulin opposition and debilitated glucose resistance. The insulin resistance precedes the onset of type 2 diabetes which is usually accompanied by cardiac risk factors like hypertension, dyslipidemia and prothrombotic factors. The combination of these risk factors in an individual is called as the metabolic syndrome. Several patients with metabolic disorder show impaired fasting glucose even when they don’t have diabetes mellitus. Women with diabetes are more prone to cardiovascular diseases.
