Biography :

Franz H. Messerli, MD is an expert in hypertensive cardiovascular disease and preventive cardiology. He presently is Guest Professor in the Department of Cardiology and Clinical Research, University Hospital Bern, Switzerland, Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai Health Medical Center, Icahn School of Medicine and Visiting Professor Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. After earning his medical degree from the University of Bern Medical School in Switzerland, Dr. Messerli completed his post-graduate training in internal medicine and cardiology at the University of Bern. This was followed by a research fellowship at the Clinical Research Institute in Montreal, Canada. Before moving to New York, Dr. Messerli was for many years director of clinical research at the Ochsner Medical Institutions and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He served on the Cardio-Renal Advisory Committee of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is a member of the editorial boards of Journal of the American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal, Circulation, Hypertension, American Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Hypertension, etc. On his CV there are more than 1000 publications and he has been the first author on several papers in the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Jama, and others. As a principal investigator, he participated in numerous clinical trials. For his scientific achievements, Dr. Messerli has received several awards among them an Honoris Causa Doctorate from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland and the Alberto Zanchetti Life Achievement Award of the European Society of Hypertension.

Current Position: Cardiologist, Vice-director in Onassis Cardiac-Surgery Center, Athens, Greece. In charge of cardiac patients’ clinical evaluation -treatment and routine- research cardiac MRI scans. Visiting professor of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. ? Responsible for research cardiovascular MRI scans in Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center (a leading tertiary center in Athens), which is the only Greek center with active CMR research and publications. ? Routine scans include Cases with congenital heart disease (referred by cardiac surgeons). ARVD (referred by the cardiologists). Thalassemic patients (referred by hematologists for iron overload estimation). Duchenne and Becker myopathy cases (referred by neurologists for pre-symptomatic cardiac involvement evaluation). Patients with coronary aneurysm or ectasia and with Kawasaki syndrome (for coronary MRA). Vasculitis in rheumatic disease. Cardiac evaluation in different types of Rheumatic diseases (special interest in scleroderma). Myocarditis (infective, autoimmune, transplant rejection). ? Currently, our center has been included in the International Registry of Myocarditis, together with other International centers (Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, Berlin, etc). ? Biography :

Prof. François Mach (h index >50), born in 1961, is an expert in the field of cardiology, in particular with regard to the development and progression of atherosclerosis diseases. After obtaining his MD at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, he studied internal medicine and cardiology at Geneva University Hospital. He then went on to complete a post-doctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Prof. Peter Libby, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston (1995-1999). Following his return to Switzerland in 2000, he became full Professor of cardiology, and in 2006 he was appointed Head of the cardiology department at Geneva University Hospital. Between 2012-14, he was the President of the Swiss Society of Cardiology. François Mach is the author of more than 350 High Impact Factor publications, has obtained several European research grants (“European Vascular Genomics Network” [EVGN] FP6, “Inflammation and Vascular Wall Remodelling in Atherosclerosis” [AtheroRemo] FP7), and is currently involved in the Athero-B-Cell FP7 (Targeting and exploiting B cell function for treatment in cardiovascular disease, all funded by the European Community. As director of the cardiology basic science laboratory at the Faculty of the Medicine University of Geneva, Prof. François Mach and his research group have developed animal models of atherosclerosis, acute myocardial infarction, chronic myocardial ischemia, and ischemic stroke. During the last 10 years, the group of Prof. François Mach has substantially contributed to a better clarification of the inflammatory mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis and its acute dramatic complications, such as myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke, both in human cohorts and animal studies. For several years now, Prof. François Mach has also been strongly implicated in clinical research in the field of lipidology, by contributing to the design and completion of several clinical research projects and multi-center studies focussed on lipid-lowering agents, such as statins and, more recently, anti-PCSK9. In addition, he is also responsible for several Swiss cohorts of atherothrombotic patients and is one of the 3 co-chairs of the ESC 2019 Lipid Guidelines that will be published on September 1, 2019.

Biography :

William J. Rowe M.D. FBIS (Fellow British Interplanetary Society), FACN (Fellow American College of Nutrition, Retired Fellow Royal Society of Medicine), is a board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine. He received his M.D. at the University of Cincinnati and was in private practice in Toledo, Ohio for 34 years. During that time he supervised over 5000 symptom - limited maximum hospital-based treadmill stress tests. He studied 3 world class extraordinary endurance athletes and published their exercise-related magnesium deficiencies. This triggered a 20 year pursuit of the cardiovascular complications of Space flight. He published Neil Armstrong's probable lunar acute heart failure; indeed, he was the first to show that adrenaline levels are elevated in Space. He is the first to publish that airborne IRON dust released from brakes is conducive to hypertension. He has been listed in the Marquis Who's Who of the World from 2002-2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Biography :

Dr. Syed Raza graduated from Aligarh University in India in 1993. After completing his postgraduate degree in Medicine from the same university, he moved to the UK for higher specialist studies. He successfully completed MRCP and CCT and later also awarded Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. He was awarded professor John Goodwin prize for outstanding performance in Diploma Cardiology exam at Hammersmith Hospital, the University of London in 2001. Dr. Raza is a Fellow of American College of Cardiology, American College of Chest Physicians as well as Fellow of European Society of Cardiology. He is also on the committee of Acute Cardiovascular Care. Heart Failure and Cardiovascular Imaging ( European Society of Cardiology ) He is currently serving as a consultant in Cardiology at Mid Cheshire Hospitals, NHS trust, United Kingdom. He previously worked as a Consultant Cardiologist and Head of the Department of Medicine at Awali Hospital, Bahrain. He is the educational coordinator and examiner for the MRCP exam for the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. He has to his credit numerous publications and he has presented his work in different parts of the world. He is a peer review author for some well respected International journals. Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind.

Press permission must be obtained from allied academies conferences Organizing Committee prior to the event. The press will not quote speakers or delegates unless they have obtained their approval in writing. The allied academies is an objective third-party non-profit organization. Requesting an Invitation Letter

For security purposes, letter of invitation will be sent only to those individuals who had registered for the conference. Once your registration is complete, please contact to request a personalized letter of invitation.

Regarding refunds, all bank charges will be for the registrants account.

Cancellation, Postponement, and Transfer of Registration

Cancellation Policy

If allied academies cancels this event for any reason, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another allied academies event which must occur within one year from the date of cancellation.


If allied academies postpone an event for any reason and you are unable or unwilling to attend on rescheduled dates, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another allied academies event which must occur within one year from the date of postponement.

Transfer of registration

All fully paid registrations are transferable to other persons from the same organization if registered person is unable to attend the event. Transfers must be made by the registered person in writing to Details must include the full name of replacement person, their title, contact phone number and email address. All other registration details will be assigned to the new person unless otherwise specified.

Registration can be transferred to one conference to another conference of Allied Academies, if the person is unable to attend one of the conferences.

However, Registration cannot be transferred if it is intimated within 30 days of the respective conference.

The transferred registrations will not be eligible for Refund.

Visa Information

Keeping in view of increased security measures, we would like to request all the participants to apply for Visa as soon as possible.

Allied academies will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants. All delegates or invitees should apply for Business Visa only.

Important note for failed visa applications: Visa issues cannot come under the consideration of cancellation policy of Allied academies, including the inability to obtain a visa. However, a transfer of registration is possible.

Refund Policy

If the registrant is unable to attend and is not in a position to transfer his/her participation to another person or event, then the following refund arrangements apply:

Keeping in view of advance payments towards Venue, Printing, Shipping, Hotels and other overheads, we had to keep Refund Policy is as following slabs-

Before 90 days of the conference: Eligible for Full Refund less $100 Service Fee

Within 90-60 days of Conference: Eligible for 50% of payment Refund less $100 Service Fee

Within 60 days of Conference: Not eligible for Refund

E-Poster Payments will not be refunded.

All the refunds will be processed after the conference only.

Accommodation Cancellation Policy

Accommodation Providers (Hotels) have their own cancellation policies, and they generally apply when cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to arrival. Please contact us as soon as possible, if you wish to cancel or amend your accommodation. Allied academies will advise the cancellation policy of your accommodation provider, prior to cancelling or amending your booking, to ensure you are fully aware of any non-refundable deposits.
